Zell am See

The top ski region in the province of Salzburg

The beautiful district capital of Zell am See in Pinzgau is transformed into one of Salzburg's most popular holiday destinations, especially in winter. Not without reason – if you are planning a ski holiday in Zell am See, you can look forward to a varied and sunny ski area on the Schmittenhöhe. Perfectly maintained pistes for every type of skier coupled with fantastic mountain panoramas – enjoy an unforgettable active holiday with the family!

THE sunny ski resort of the Alps

That's what you could call the Schmittenhöhe ski area. Around 80% of all slopes are illuminated by the sun in good weather! What a dream it is, considering that you also enjoy a wide panoramic view over the entire Alps and Lake Zell.

Highlights for families

Family ski holidays on the Schmitten – with the Kidsslope Glocknerbahn and the Drachen Schmidolin, children can learn to ski in a playful way. Children's ski courses help the little ones to make their first turns in the snow, while experienced ski stars can look forward to the comprehensive offering for families.

Culinary delights in the huts

Stop off at the 23 ski huts, restaurants or après-ski bars and enjoy culinary specialities from the region and from all over the world. One thing is for sure – if skiing leaves you with a hunger, you are going to look forward even more to the excellent huts in the Schmittenhöhe ski area.

Need an adrenaline kick?

The Trass downhill run is one of the longest black runs in Salzburg with a gradient of up to 70%. Do you prefer to test your speed? Then head to the Audi Ski Run or the Skimovie track. We’ll see in the Snowpark and Fun Slope XXL who has the most tricks up their sleeve.

The ski area

Leave traces in the snow and gather magnificent memories during your ski holiday. The Schmittenhöhe ski area extends over 77 kilometres of slopes, 28 lifts and 23 ski huts.

Snowboarding

Whether they are riding across the deep snow or on the slopes – snowboarders are also attracted to our winter sports region. Snowboarding is at least as popular as skiing. Riding on the board is a bit more difficult to learn, but those who can do it will enjoy the coolness of snowboarding to the fullest.
